Matthew Nickerson joined Massey Knakal’s Manhattan office as an Associate working with Partner James Nelson focusing on Greenwich Village, East Village and NoHo. In 2013 he was promoted to Senior Associate. He brings to the team a tenacious work ethic and positive attitude that has contributed to their success.
During his time with Massey Knakal, he has worked on over 50 transactions for an aggregate value of $420,000,000. Some of his most notable recent transactions include: the TriStar Portfolio for $49.9 million, 100 Vandam Street for $27.5 million, 143-145 West 4th Street for $11.325 million and 152-154 Leroy Street for $10.25 million. Matthew credits most of his success to his never-ending desire to improve, whether in or out of the office.
Matthew comes to Massey Knakal after most recently acting as a Financial Analyst at C.H. Nickerson & Co. While there, he was responsible for day-to-day operations of investment portfolios, including equity research, tracking daily performances, and designing asset allocation models. His strong analytical experience allows him to quickly and effectively analyze property, helping to unlock value.
Matthew attended Emory University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance. During his time at Emory, Matthew led numerous seminars, leadership activities, and coaching sessions designed to enhance the student’s abilities to mentor underprivileged high school students in the metro Atlanta area. Additionally, he was a member of the Emory University Goizueta Investors where he participated in investing exercises and attended in-depth lectures on current market conditions, trading strategies and various valuation techniques.
A native of northern Long Island, Matthew now resides in downtown Manhattan. When not working, he can usually be found on the water, as he is an avid rower.
