Sugar Hill

Sugar Hill is a neighborhood located in Manhattan (part of Manhattan Community Board 9), bordering Harlem and Hamilton Heights.

Popularized in the 1920s, Sugar Hill today evokes all the charm of Harlem Renaissance with restored Victorian townhouses and single-family dwellings with large living spaces, many boasting original details such as stained glass, handcrafted moldings and ceilings, and dumbwaiters. In 2000, the Landmarks Preservation Committee designated Sugar Hill part of the Hamilton Heights Historic District Extension, and today this quiet residential neighborhood is home to a diverse mixture of residents ranging from artists and entertainers to investment bankers and lawyers. Residents can enjoy easy access to the neighborhood's legendary soul food and jazz, and proximity to the A, B, C and D trains make Sugar Hill a very accessible location.
