Gravesend

Gravesend is a neighborhood located in Brooklyn (part of Brooklyn Community Board 13) bordering Bensonhurst, Sheepshead Bay and Coney Island.

A historic neighborhood with a unique history, Gravesend today betrays little evidence of its colonial roots, with the exception of a few notable historic homes. One of many neighborhoods overlooking New York Bay, Gravesend is a primarily residential area with housing options ranging from detached single-family homes and row houses to large apartment buildings. Home to the only half-sunken yellow submarine in the borough, as well as the Drier Offerman Park bocce ball court, Gravesend provides residents with easy access to Brooklyn's other neighborhoods via the F, N and D trains.
