The East Village is a neighborhood located in Manhattan bordering Alphabet City, Gramercy, the West Village and the Lower East Side.
Known for its Bohemian vibe, cutting edge boutiques, avant-garde restaurants and cafes, and sumptuous lounge scene, the East Village is currently one of Manhattan's most vibrant social and cultural centers. Considered the birthplace of punk rock, this neighborhood was home to longstanding nightclub CBGB, and is currently home to residents from a myriad of cultures and backgrounds.
